I ALMOST DIDN'T

It was a tiring week. I almost didn't wanna post because I felt so exhausted and wanted to just lay on the bed doing nothing. My brain was overworking and my head hurt a lot when I stared at the screen for too long. But I told myself, if I skip one week then I might lose the motivation to post totally. Once you slack it's hard to get back on track (OMG look at that, it rhymes! LOL). So here I am and today we are going to talk about another mask from WangSkin.

Before I throw the ingredient list at you, let me get this straighten out. Am I doing too many mask reviews lately? How are you guys doing with these mask reviews? You all know how much I love a product with Centella Asiatica Extract and this is my second time seeing it in a mask after the FROMNATURE Sparkling Effect Hyaluronic Aqua Mask. This already got me so hyped up and all I want to do now is tear open the mask and pop it on.

I've also started digging into mask with Licorice Extract ever since I learnt what it can do. As explained in my previous Gold Mask review, its root is good for fighting acne, skin brightening and calming the skin. It can also diminish the appearance of under-eye dark circles, discolouration and even age spots as well as acting as a powerful antioxidant to protect the skin from environmental stressors and balance oil.

The highlighted ingredients in this mask are Lily Extract (rejuvenating and refreshing), Snow Lotus Extract (purifying), Edelweiss Extract (soothing and calming), Aloe Vera Extract (hydrating), Chamomile Extract (calming, relaxing and hydrating). Nicotinoyl Dipeptide-23 is also a star ingredient here as it is made up of cross-functioning vita peptides that can inhibit melanin production to give us brighter and more vibrant-looking skin.

The Bad Ones

The first thing you should do is check the ingredient list above and decide if you are allergic to any of those ingredients. Second thing you need to take note of is to remove the mask as soon as you feel something's not right. Or, you can tear a small opening and pour out some of the essence and patch test on your skin for a few minutes before placing the whole mask on your skin. I sometimes do this if I'm not sure whether I'm allergic to any of the ingredients.

Do take note that Triethanolamine can potentially block pores as it has a comedogenic rating of two on as identified by Skincarisma.

LET THE MASK TALK

So let's not delay further, let's tear open the mask and see what it can do. When I opened up the mask, my first thought was "Wow! This mask comes with so much essence!" because the essence spilled out of the package even though I tried to move it to the bottom of the package before opening. Luckily I did that, or else my whole shirt is going to be wet with whitening and anti-ageing essence LOL. The essence is a clear liquid that has a yellow tinge to it.

I PINPOINTED IT!

I tried my best to smell the pack but at first I just couldn't decide what it smells like. I wanted to say it smells like some kind of flower but when I smelled it the second time, it turned into something sweet and a little minty. After smelling it a few times (that's my OCD talking, not me!), I think it smells exactly like the Hiruscar Post Acne Gel. Gosh, I was smelling it too much that my nose (+brain) had decided to disregard the smell totally haha!

CUPRAMMONIUM WHAT?

This mask is made of Cupro fabric. Cupro fabric is basically a cotton-alike but it drapes more beautifully on our skin and can cover the curves of our skin better than cotton when having it on. It is a very soft material that feels like silk except that it is half synthetic unlike silk. It is made by dissolving wood pulp in an ammoniac copper oxide solution and that makes WangSkin White Flower Mask Pack a cellulose-rich mask.

HOW TO USE

Before using the mask, make sure to clean your skin and put on your favourite toner. You can then go ahead and tear open the mask and carefully position in on your face. Although the mask has a very thin texture it stayed intact when I moved it around to fit my face shape. But I'd still advise you to be careful when putting it on to avoid tearing it accidentally. After that, just take a rest and leave it on for 10-20 minutes.

I like the fit a lot! It managed to cover my whole nose!

WHEN IT WAS ON

It felt cooling on my skin although I did not put it in the fridge (I just realised I have not put any of the masks that I had been using lately in the fridge haha). I like how the mask was wrapping around my chin and giving it a temporary tightening and lifting effect. It did not slide or even budge even though I was walking around and sitting up working on my laptop. That officially puts it in the weekday mask category! 

I had it on for more than 20 minutes but the mask was still very wet with essence!

MOMENT OF TRUTH

So, I was expecting this WangSkin mask to tighten, brighten and moisturise (because of the moisturising ingredient in it). Upon removal, the first thing I noticed is that I didn't have to do any patting because all essence is fully absorbed by my skin. There was some essence remaining in mask pack so I just used it on my hand and pat some on my skin. Overall, I thought the mask had done its job really well! 

Just look at this before-after picture, those pores are less visible than before (that is what a good moisture boost looks like) and my skin is tightened. 

p.s. You may not be able to see the brightening effect here as there is a lighting issue due timing difference between two photos. I used natural sunlight as my lighting. When I checked out my face in the mirror, I noticed a glow that wasn't there earlier which I'm giving the credits to this mask!

SO SHOULD I BUY?

If smell isn't a big issue to you (honestly it doesn't smell bad at all) and you are into some pore tightening and lifting effects, by all means, go ahead! It didn't irritate my skin and had temporarily brightened up my complexion so I'm definitely going to use this again when I have something important coming up the next day. My skin felt super soft after using the mask but it did feel a little tacky. To get rid of that, I just washed it off 10 minutes later and layered my skin with my current favourite moisturising serum from Purito (stay tuned for some Purito reviews!).
